Poetry on Parchment
Sevilla's stunning iconic minaret, La Giralda, is symbolic of the various cultures that inhabited and flavored Spain through the centuries: Visigoth, Celtic, Roman, Arabic and Christian. From its foundation to the belfry which crowned it in 1522, the minaret is a map of its intricate, spicy, convoluted history. Even today and far from Spain, we dwell in its shadow...under the influence of its creators.
With this historical novel, I tackle the themes of equity, romance and unrequited love. The historical details are researched and accurate. The story is set in Sixteenth Century Spain, richer in splendor in that era than any other. I began the novel in 2010 and finished the story in 2017; I continue to edit!
I invite you to join me on an adventure! Take this journey with me! This is my first novel; it may or may not be published. I will be transparent about each of the steps on the way. From reading other novelist's accounts, publication is a convoluted trip, itself. At each phase, you will see a brief description of what I attempt and the result. I'll not sugarcoat or exaggerate (excessively :-0) but will reveal the outcomes, good or bad. None of us will know whether the novel will finally be published until late in the process.
